Monday again! C's Food

Yay, today's the day you start doing this too, Tricia! Yippee!!!

I didn't eat very early this morning. I was SO tired, that P got Shan off to school, and I didn't even get out of bed until 7:20!!! So, I had my first "feed" at 7:45...I hope that doesn't bite me in the butt later tonight.

granola bar
apple
string cheese
pretzels
2 oz chicken/2 crackers/zucchini (about half)
100 cal pack - Chips Ahoy
Vegetable Barley soup
2 pc. bread & butter
Gingerbread graham crackers
Raisinets (yes, really)

20 minutes on elliptical

DAY 1--6wd (tricia)

Ok...so I started and I have to say I am hungry. LOL However, my food options were limited this morning since the plan was to go grocery shopping after I dropped the kids at school, so I had 3 mini muffin tops for my first "feed". Then for my second "feed", I was in the grocery...so I ate 45 mins late. But as soon as I got in the car I had a banana. I get to eat again in 15 mins and I am thrilled. I am wondering if 1200 calories aren't going to be enough for me? I am going to stick with the 1200 for now...give it a few days and see how I feel, etc. I saw that someone on the 6WD forums eats 200 calories 10 times a day and she is losing. So, we'll see. :)

3 frozen mini muffin tops
banana
1/2 ham sandwich, 2 dill pickles
cottage cheese, wasa cracker
popcorn
granola bar
raisins
smoked sausage sauerkraut (200 cal)
oreos

Official weigh-in

My weigh-in day has ALWAYS been Saturday, so I decided to stick with that!

I'm down 4 lbs since Tuesday! Yay!

Total loss: 14 lbs!

Food on Friday - Cindy

OK...6WD, day 4.

I didn't eat any veggies today. That's pretty bad! I did eat fruit twice though, so I guess I don't totally suck, lol! Also, I took a nap this afternoon, and missed a "feed."

We had a birthday party at school today, and I wasn't planning to eat anything, and I really didn't want to. But one of my students is pre-diabetic, and today she was being monitored, to check her numbers, etc. I had to write down exactly what she ate/drank, etc...in quantities, etc. Well, some of the cupcakes had whipped cream icing, and some...we couldn't tell! I had to eat a bit, just to figure out what it was, so I could write it on her sheet, lol!

Banana
string cheese
1/3 cupcake
pretzels
apple
HB egg
1/2 Roast Beef sand.
Crackers & Laughing Cow
Cottage Cheese

Hmmm...typing that out, I had a LOT of dairy today. I'll work on balancing that out too.

Love the idea of the 6WD!!!

Thanks, Tricia for letting me know about the 6WD!!! I'm gonna do it, and I'm super excited!

I'm starting a new way of eating tomorrow. It's a very simple plan, but for whatever reason just makes total sense to me, and I think it will work very well. For me, it's a whole different way of thinking about food, altogether.

The "plan" has a name...it's called the "Six Word Diet." Basically, the 6 Words are "Eat 100 Calories Every 90 Minutes."

I've always heard that eating frequent small meals is very healthy for your body and metabolism. I just never really computed how it would work to actually do it. For some reason, this seems really easy and do-able for me.

The plan works out to about 1,200 calories a day, which at first didn't seem like much to me. But then I figured what my WW days were giving me, and it's right about the same!

I've planned out my "meals" for tomorrow...and for the first time in a LONG time, I'm actually excited about doing something right (food-wise) for myself. This whole plan just intrigues me. I've always felt that I "had NO metabolism," and the whole point of this plan is to get your metabolism going, and keep it going all day. It's reported that your energy level just shoots up when you eat this way. To be honest, I can't imagine even HAVING an energy level. I'm feeling a lot better since my surgery, and my anemia is repairing...but I truly think this will help me in the energy dept.

I've tried to trudge along through WW, but found myself rebelling and eating all the wrong things. I just get mad, and sabotage myself.

Anyway, I'm intrigued and excited....

In case you want to see what I'll be eating....

I've only planned out my morning...because we REALLY need to go food shopping, which I'll do after work.

And also bear in mind that during these hours I'll have a minimum of 12 children with me, so the first half of my day will have to be things I can eat quickly, easily, and on the go. The second half of my day will be the more intensive things like sandwiches, meats, soups, etc.

6:30 am - Apple/Cinnamon oatmeal

8:00 am - Toast/Strawberry jam

9:30 am - 1-1/2 hard-boiled eggs

11:00 am - apple

12:30 pm - string cheese

2:00 pm - raw veggies/dip

Once I shop tomorrow afternoon, I'll have more options to choose from, but I really want to start tomorrow, so this is what I had to choose from at home, lol. Once we have food in the house, Patrick is going to do it too! Like me, he is also really intrigued by this. His eating plan will be 200 calories every 90 minutes, for a 2400 calorie day. (Your amounts can be adjusted once you see how your body/energy does on the program.)

What's interesting to me, is that this is already SO MUCH MORE food than I would have normally consumed by 2pm. I know I won't be hungry, and I'm interested to see how my energy level feels as my work day finishes.

With our lifestyle the way it is, this program will be fine for us. I can see how it might be hard for some people to make it work...eating that often, but Patrick stays home full-time, and I only work mornings...so I think it will be fine!

Six Words

My Aunt Robin sent me some info about "The Six Word Diet". I think I am going to give it a try. I can't seem to get geared back up for WW for some reason....and I need to feel excited about something..and God help me..this actually sounds kinda exciting--as exciting as dieting can be. LOL I figure if I hate it..maybe it will kick my ass back over to the WW way of life...we'll see.

So...what are the six words you ask?
EAT 100 CALORIES EVERY 90 MINUTES

So, by doing this..you are taking in about 1200 calories a day,..and eating all day. Which boosts your metabolism. I have always heard that you should eat several times a day..I have just never done it..I go long periods of time without eating and then eat when I am STARVING..even with WW I saved the majority of my points for dinner. My friend Teresa lost a lot of weight a few years ago and she said that the weight didn't budge until she started eating small portions of food and ate ALL day. I never tried it though..because I like LARGE portions of food. LOL But, I think I am going to give this a go and see what happens.

I have been online reading message boards etc all day and it seems like a lot of people have had really good results. One girl started 12/29 and has already lost 27 lbs!

I think I will start it next Monday...once I have a chance to go back to the grocery and load up on low cal foods.

slowly....

I'm S L O W L Y getting geared back up to get back on my diet and quit "effing" around. It's SLOW though. not sure what my problem is. Might be that is easier to NOT diet and NOT exercise..and I'm all about what is easiest.

I had said that I was going to exercise and up my water intake this week. yeah..not so much just yet. Maybe I am feeling all "eh" because I started my period and I am bloaty and crampy and headachey and don't feel like doing anything but sitting in my jammies and eating. Stupid thing is...if I would drink more water and exercise..I would probably feel better. funny how that works huh?

We'll see what the day brings.....

Pretty good day

I did my first elliptical workout this morning, and it was good. I'm actually considering doing another one! (What the hell? LOL!)

I ate pretty good today, except I only ate and apple and chex mix for lunch. Probably could have made a better choice, but eh...it wasn't a horrible one.

Lots of news!

So I weighed in this morning, since it's Saturday, and that's the day we've always weighed in. I weighed 200 lbs. even...so I've lost 2 lbs. since I started up again! Yay! Total lost 11 lbs.

I did 2 miles of Walk Away the Pounds (WATP) this morning. My thighs were actually still sore from my Biggest Loser workout, and doing WATP made them feel better! Wasn't expecting that, but I'm all for it, lol!

And then! Tonight...we bought an elliptical machine! It's freakin' awesome. Patrick really needs some exercise that he can do without hurting himself...and this is a really good non-impact exercise that he CAN do! It will be SO good for all of us to have it! We got it all put together, but it's late now...so we'll use it tomorrow.

5 out of 7

Patrick said it's not a good idea to exercise all 7 days, because your muscles need a chance to repair and regenerate after each work-out. I guess I'm OK with that, although I could probably have taken a walk or whatever and not killed myself. But! I also don't want to burn myself out before I even get started.

So, today...I'm just doing some stretching/yoga-type exercises to keep my muscles loose-ish. They are sore and tight from my Biggest Loser DVD still!

I ate well today...

Breakfast:
Granola bar for breakfast

Lunch:
1/2 (but it was big) roast beef/cheese sandwich
banana

Dinner:
Chicken
Salad

I went healthy food shopping, and I'm really proud. You know how they say if you want to avoid junk food, extra processing, etc...to shop around the "outside" of the store? That's exactly what I did. I got mostly fruits, vegetables, meats, and GOOD bread.

Shannon's having a sleepover tomorrow night, so I did get pizza to have for dinner. I got some ice cream bars (think Eskimo Pie) but they are fat free, and no sugar added. And then I got some Eggo waffles for them to have for dinner. I tried to get things that once the sleepover is done, that we won't have food left in the house. Everything else I bought is natural and good for us! Yay!

Quads on Fire

OK Tricia...it's time! Dust off your water bottles and your food journal, and get ready to go again!

I've decided to switch my focus from the eating portion of getting healthy, to the exercise portion of getting healthy. I know from past personal experience that when I exercise, the healthy eating naturally follows (because I don't want to screw up the exercising I've done), but when I eat right, the exercising doesn't necessarily follow...because I figure I'm doing "good enough" by eating right. So! Exercise is now the name of the game.

Yesterday I weighed in at 202 (boo hiss...lol), which is up five pounds from where I left off just before my surgery. I still have a 9 lb. net loss from my starting weight of 210.

Also yesterday, I did The Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD workout. It was pretty brutal. I got winded during the warm-up, and by 11:30 into the 20:00 workout, I was pretty dead. I kept moving through the whole thing, but I had to modify a lot of the exercises to get through them. Pretty sad how out of shape I am!

Today, I walked 2 miles in 30 minutes...or 15 minutes each! That's pretty good. I guess that still comes from all of my 3-Day Walk training. We're watching our DVR'd The Biggest Loser: Couples tonight, too...so I'll be all motivated to keep going afterward.

(As a side note...Patrick started exercising today too, and is upstairs making edamame, so I think he's sick of being fat, too...lol!)
